Local Enhancements

Protection and Enhancements for Colney Heath

We aim to protect the dedicated green belt around Colney Heath while introducing key improvements to benefit the community. This is not an official plan but a demonstration of our proposed initiatives. Our Foundation is committed to supporting local communities in securing the best outcomes for their care needs, lifestyle, and wellbeing. The enhancements to footpaths and cycleways shown here are part of our vision to create a safer, more connected environment.

Green Belt Protection and Proposed Enhancements

Our plan includes safeguarding the green belt area around Colney Heath while implementing enhancements to improve connectivity and accessibility. The map highlights our proposed improvements:

  • Introducing new cycle bridges over the A414
  • Enhancing Roestock Lane for better accessibility The orange squares indicate areas where we plan to make significant improvements, and the yellow and orange dashed lines represent public footpaths and new cycle pathways, respectively. These efforts are aimed at promoting a healthier and more active lifestyle for the community

Key Infrastructure Improvements

We propose several key infrastructure improvements to enhance connectivity and safety for pedestrians and cyclists:

  • Constructing bridge crossings over the North Orbital Road and A1(M)
  • Improving road crossings on the A414
  • Upgrading underpasses along A1(M) and A414 These initiatives are designed to create safer, more convenient routes for community members, encouraging more walking and cycling.

This is the protection that the dedicated green belt gives to Colney Heath: this is not an official plan. The Foundation supports local communities to secure the best outcome for their care needs, lifestyle, and wellbeing. Improvements to footpaths and cycle ways are demonstrated here
